No. French A1 is designed specifically for complete beginners with no previous knowledge. It builds the foundation every higher level depends on, starting from the French alphabet and greetings.

You learn French pronunciation, greetings, self introduction, numbers, everyday vocabulary, and core French grammar A1 such as present-tense verbs, negation, and the near future, building toward simple conversation.

French has its own pronunciation and grammar patterns, but A1 is built for beginners. With live instruction, weekly speaking practice, and a step-by-step CEFR A1 curriculum, most learners pick up the French basics comfortably.

You can choose Regular, Intensive, Weekend, or Super-Intensive batches. Whichever format you pick, you complete the same CEFR A1 aligned French A1 Course curriculum, learning outcomes, and assessments.

1. Does this course prepare me for the DELF A1 exam?

Yes. The curriculum follows the CEFR framework and prepares you for the DELF A1 exam through structured Listening, Reading, Writing, and Speaking practice, regular assessments, and full-length mock exams based on the official DELF format.

The DELF A1 tests four modules — Listening (Compréhension Orale), Reading (Compréhension Écrite), Writing (Production Écrite), and Speaking (Production Orale). Our course includes full-length mock tests in this exact format so you’re familiar with each section before exam day.

The DELF A1 requires 50/100 overall to pass, with a minimum score in each section. Our mock exams and assessments are benchmarked to this standard so you know where you stand before registering.

DELF A1 exam fees are set by France Education international and its authorized exam centres and vary by location and date. The exam fee is separate from your course fee; our admissions team helps you with registration timelines and centre selection.

1. What can I do after completing French A1?

After French A1 you can progress to French A2, continuing toward B1 and higher CEFR levels for study, work, travel, and international opportunities. A1 gives you the foundation needed for everyday French communication.

A1 helps you communicate in simple everyday situations using basic vocabulary and grammar. A2 builds on this with longer conversations, broader vocabulary, and greater confidence in daily communication. Most learners continue to A2 after completing A1.

French A1 provides the basic communication skills needed for travel and everyday interactions. However, universities, employers, and immigration pathways generally require A2, B1, or higher depending on the country and purpose.
